This page lists release notes for Databricks Runtime versions that have reached end-of-support and end-of-life. For information on supported Databricks Runtime versions, see Databricks Runtime release notes versions and compatibility. For information on the Databricks Runtime support policy and schedule, see Databricks support lifecycles.
After a Databricks Runtime version reaches end-of-support, you can't select it in the UI when you create or edit compute. Until the version reaches end-of-life, you can still create compute that uses it with the Create cluster API. For details, see Databricks Runtime support lifecycles.
Note
Databricks Runtime 10.3 and earlier have reached end-of-life. Release notes for those versions have been removed from the documentation. Databricks Runtime 10.4 LTS is the earliest version with release notes still available.
Create compute with an end-of-support version
When a Databricks Runtime version reaches end-of-support, it no longer appears in the list of versions you can select when you create compute in the workspace UI. You can still create compute with an end-of-support version by setting its version key in the spark_version field of the Create cluster API.
Note
This applies only to end-of-support versions. End-of-life versions are removed from the Azure Databricks environment, so you can't create compute with them in the UI or the API. See Databricks support lifecycles.
